The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, or FSSAI for short, is a division of the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The length of time you have been approved for an FSSAI license determines its validity. The number of years you receive an FSSAI license for will affect the cost of the license. A FSSAI license may be valid for a maximum of five years. Before your current license expires, you must submit a new FSSAI license application. It is required to have at least 30 days before your license expires, per FSSAI regulations. You will be fined Rs 100 per day if you submit your application late.
