Wireless Planning and coordination wing come under the Department of Telecommunication (DoT). The such wing would be responsible for carrying out radio frequency testing, licensing requirements related to wireless testing, and frequency testing.

TYPES OF WPC APPROVAL/ WPC CERTIFICATION

Wireless Planning and Coordination certification (WPC License) is of 3 types which are as follows:

1. Non-Network License

·         Import License

·         Dealer Possession License

·         Non-dealer Possession License

2.            Network License

·         Internet Service Provider License (ISP)

·         Experimental License

3.            Equipment Type Approval (ETA)

The Procedure

First of all license application needs to be fulfilled in the respective category online with all the right information.

An Application ID is provided after online submission

Then this Application ID along with a hard copy of the form is submitted to the WPC office

After careful consideration WPC granted a license as per requirements.

During the approval process of ETA licensing, the WPC tests the equipment and checks if it adheres to the legal standards it has established for the usage of products in India. If the product follows that standard, only then the WPC certification is issued.
